Currently I'm looing for something to occupy my time while the kids are in school.

Alex and I are working (slowly) on thank you cards (better late than never!)

The really exciting part is that we are discussing the parts and designs for our 3-D printer.  Although we haven't quite decided on food safe plastic molds or a sugar/ chocolate printer. The possibilities are endless. So you might not see me on my page very often but it's only because I'm busy making stuff!

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery

I had an idea. Wine and Beer Westpark is where we go to enjoy the newest arivals in Richmonds beer elite scene. The tastings they pull off with the brewers and beers they choose are always the best around and without a doubt they always impress the tastebuds. So recently I was lucky enough to join a tasting at the shop with the owners of the newest brewery in town, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery. The beer was amazing and suddenly I was overwhelmed with the possible delights I could come up with using only my baking ingrediants and their Beer. The Gingerbread stout was awesome to work with and proved to be a very versitle beer. To name just a few: Gingerbread Stout cupcakes with Gingerbread Stout ganache, Gingerbread Stout chocolate chip cookie dough brownies, Gingerbread Stout Truffles, and my favorite is when I combined a few of my favorite things with the creation of Caramales. Gingerbread Stout Caramales with a pretzel in the middle, Then I was delighted when I found Va bacon on sale and decided that bacon would go just as well with the Gingerbread Stout Caramales and the chocolate would make a great treat if I crumbled the Gingerbread Stout cupcakes and made them with the caramales and then added the chocolate around it. I think if the brewery would like I'd love to use their beers and provide them with a constant flow of beer treats. Knowing they are hard at work on their Mocha Stout makes my mouth water at all the possibilities that will be created by the pairings of their beers and my whims with sugar. The outcome will surely be delicious!
